We do things differently, we want to make sure buyers AND sellers get a good price, that is why we use our patent pending fair market value process.
Everyone wins because we make sure and set a fair price for your books.
There is no guessing, just everyone gets a good deal!
Fair market value?
Bookstores buy and sell a textbook at different profits - just so they can take a profit from the transaction. In the old days, the bookstores took a very small profit, but in recent decades, this gap (and the bookstore's overall profit) has increased seemingly exponentially.
The fair market value is usually not the cheapest price that a book can be bought for, but it will be substantially less than going to the campus bookstore. You also do not have to pay shipping and handling fees, and in theory, you might be able to meet up and get the book you need within minutes or hours of requesting a textbook swap on BookDefy!
Sure, you might be able to rent a book or buy a used book, but swapping gives you two core advantages. First, you own the book you get. Second, there is no shipping, waiting around or otherwise, you get the book right then. Finally, there is no worries about highlighting, shipping it back, etc.
